In my law practice, I spend a lot of time helping clients buy and sell companies -- especially companies engaged in various aspects of the entertainment business. It is my favorite work. After years of doing it, I've learned that succesfully buying or selling an entertainment company requires a lot of specialized knowledge. There are a lot of tricks. I want to share what I've learned, and I find that a blog is the best way to do that. So, welcome.
I'll be posting periodically about various aspects of entertainment deals. The examples might come from current deals in the public eye, or even some events that are taking place in my own practice.
Of course, I welcome questions and comments -- especially if you disagree. I want this to be a forum for all of us to learn. The best way to do that is to gather experience from as many people as possible. So, please share your experience with me and anyone else who is watching. I vigorously encourage other points of view.
Making deals is not science -- it is truly an art. There are certainly technical aspects (as with any art form), but the real keys to success are creativity and experience. I'll enjoy sharing my thoughts and hearing yours. Thanks.
